A Two Family Retreat on San Juan Island

Two families plan to share this getaway, often at the same time, as a big family compound. The intention of the design is to provide a cluster of structures that allows for different activities and levels of privacy. The breaking up of the mass into smaller structures allows the architecture to be more integrated with a gentle water's-edge landscape of tall well spaced alders and fir trees. (Julie designed this project while formerly employed at Hoshide Williams Architects.)
